Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Digital Device
Exactly 30 years after the first Toy Story movie was released, launching the animation giant as a leading film company and bringing viewers to iconic figures like the cowboy doll (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the storyline but leaving fans curious how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Toys
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who received Andy's toys when he left for college — receiving a latest toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting prize toys find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in the familiar setting unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with him. And where is the stuntman toy (the star)?
Continuity from the Previous Film
At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the prior film. The final act Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the insignia pinned to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
