Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, bringing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
