The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Displeasure About Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has updated its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Response
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms.
They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction.
Measurement Approach Updates
Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
User Accounts
A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she stated.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said.

The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users.
It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
