Tehran is prepared to restart atomic discussions with the United States provided that it is approached with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

Abbas Araghchi declared exclusively dialogue was effective, and revealed fresh requests had originated from intermediaries to restart discussions with the American leadership. He claimed Iran had zero secret atomic facilities, and Tehran could not yet permit the global atomic watchdog to visit struck enrichment centers for security reasons.

Walking a Complex Course

Araghchi is navigating a complex path since Iran does not want be seen to be operating from a situation of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged stronger defensively and psychologically from the coordinated strike on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to enrich uranium domestically that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the previous talks.

Earlier Discussions Abruptly Concluded

Tehran representatives stated they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with US participation could refine atomic fuel.
